In this scene, the “IFs” and their “reals” (so intrigued, aren’t you???) are trying to play a trick on Captain Papadapoulos, the trickster.

This is our most exciting performance of the run, the Friday morning field trip show for area schools. You can see the excitement and exuberance of these kids as they participate in our play.

One of our artist/actor/singer friends, Zach Stock (Winter Sort of Thing die-hards will recognize him as the star of many previous Winter Sort of Thing shows.) made this fantastic baby giraffe costume for Anna to wear for All Hands on Deck, our latest Winter Sort of Thing.

(This is Rolando, not Anna obviously)

Here’s what the artist had to say about the costume:

I made this costume/puppet for “All Hands On Deck” the new wonderful and wacky musical by the kids and adults of “Yes!And…” A whole bunch of creative people have contributed amazing things to it, for the pure blissful work of collaboration! It’s playing all this weekend

See you at the show! Tickets?

Thanks to Dave Manzo and crew for filming and editing this great piece. Dave’s film crew is busy making a documentary about the process of creating the Winter Sort of Thing.

Ahoy, scallywags! If there’s anything I’ve learned as the captain of the most glorious ship to ever sail the seas (The Scattershot… my is she yar), it’s that a captain is only as good as her crew. Thankfully, my first mate (Melvin) and my used-to-be first mate (Monty? Moliere? Montgomery? I can never remember that little scamp’s name) are two of the most capable sea dogs a captain could ever hope to have swabbing her decks… and they are both quite graceful in a canoe, if I do say so myself.

I count on these two fine sailors to keep the Scattershot afloat and on course, while I take care of the more fun side of my job, being the High Trickster of the High Seas! Who has time for rigging and sails when there are laughs to be had? Not this lady! And if it weren’t for my reliable mateys, my precious joking mind would be divided between coming up with the finest hoaxes ever crafted, and keeping the Scattershot from running aground on an inconveniently placed island.

So, Melvin and Morris (that’s it!), consider this a formal recognition of your fine work and incomparable helpfulness. Now get back to work!
